  1. Hi there - i'm just starting to play around with capturing, etc. I have one small question:
I have a SB live and a GF4 VIVO, and as soon as the WDM drivers (a/v crossbar, etc) are installed, i lose normal sound playback. I've looked everywhere to find how to change the playback, but everything looks ok.
Is there some small app or setting i'm missing?? I've done numerous searches, but can't find anything related...
any help appreciated, and seasons greetings

  2. Well, no one is helping me with my question, and while searching for an answer, I came across your question.
I had a SB live, but have switched it for an Audigy. But I can think of a few things that may help.
OK, for one, don't use the WDM drivers that came with the card, make sure you update your SB Live drivers and any related programs (mixer, watever) and also go to nvidia's website and download the newest WDM drivers (I think 1.22).
After that, if you still have lost your audio, open your mixer, check all of the settings (nothing got switched to mute or anything, still has analog audio as the output and such), then go to advanced, click recording and ok, then see if everything there is ok (just incase you are refering to line in or something, like if you are using WDM drivers for VIVO from VCR, I think the SB Live has the line in on the recording volume list).

I'm not sure if any of that will help, but it shouldn't hurt, and at least someone replied to your question.

I'm going to keep on looking for my answer, and no one will even tell me if my problem is a problem or normal or good or anything...
