I am trying to capture from VHS tapes using an ATI AIW 8500DV card and Adobe Premier 6. I then want to edit various clips (trimming and joining, etc.) to make one file, and then export back to VHS.
What Codec, Frame Size, etc. should I be using to get it to work? I was able to capture using Divx Low-Motion Codec, but I get some dropped frames. More significantly, however, I cannot get Premoer to export back to vhs. Sound will work, but not video. I assume this problem has something to do with the Code, frame size, or even whether I select upper or lower filed.
Can anyone help? Are there any guides for this process?

The problem with not being able to output video probably lies with the overlay; I beleive, with the AIW you need to ahve overlay selected in the video output. I haven't used premiere for a while and don't have it installed but if you see something like that in any of the menus try changing it. That or use your ATI app to output to the composite out.
