  1. I was wondering if there was an easy way to extract an movie from my dvd-r, then edit it (cut out some blank space) then burn it back to dvd-r, without losing any quality.

I am trying some of the conversions, in the "how to" section but it seems like i have to rencode the file, or something and it is taking forever in Tmpgenc.

So i was wondering if there was just a tool that will extract the file from the DVD-R. Let me cut some space off the beginning and end. Then burn it back onto DVD-R without any loss of quality.

Thanks in advance for the help.

  2. Some guides want to reencode but that is usually to make VCD or SVCD or to fit big movies onto small discs.

You need at a minimum a DVD drcryptor and an IFO editor. This guide should work:

or you can try a prog like dvdxcopy but that has issues.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

  3. how would i go about cutting the actually movie using that guide? i would think it would create a "mpeg" or something then use an mpeg editing program to cut, then save and burn.

is there a program that will let you cut the movie using those files?

sorry i am new to this, please bear with me..
