  1. I just have a quick question. I have a movie it's about 93 minutes long and it is 948,123,652 bytes in size. Everything is done i did all the encoding and stuff and so it is now VCD compliant. But is there a way i can fit this onto one single 80min/700mb CDR or if not how do i split up the movie? I am using Nero to burn my VCDs and all it tells me is that there is not enough space on the medium selected. If i do burn this on two CDRs is it possible to include other tracks because most of the second CDR will be empty.

Why not split the move in half, not just a little on one disk ? "M2 Edit" is very good for this, but I guess Vdub will also do it (At key frames).

Its not worth trying to fit it on one disk, by the time you cut trailers and credits, it still might not fit. If you try other methods the quality will be terrable.

Split it in 2, 474Mb per disk. Or add your own intro to as a second mpeg.

YOu maybe know this by now but if you donīt then here is the solution:
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/84759.php

INSTALL ONLY VER 2.58 BECAUSE THE NEWER ONE HAVE A BIG BUG IN IT WHICH WILL MAKE YOUR CONVERTED MPGS MUCH BIGGER SIZE THAN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO.

  4. Don't skimp on it by squishing it on to 1 cd.
    Spend the extra 30cents on a 2nd cd-r.
    The results are worth it.

If you really want it on one CD I suggest re-encoding with TMPGenc using Kwags LBR template. Technically this template creates an XVCD because it changes the bitrate to less than the VCD standard of 1150 kbits/sec, however, in my own tests this produces a better quality than I have seen in any "VCD." In my tests I used the template "as-it-is" except I changed the motion search precision to high quality. You may want to test it first on a short capture, maybe 5 minutes to make sure it is compatable with your standalone DVD player. Unfortunately, to use this template you will have to take the time to re-encode from the original file, and then turn off VCD compliance in Nero when you burn. I expect your 93 minute video, using this template will end up about 570meg in size.

I would cut the mpeg with TMPGe to fit onto 2 discs (guide in the How to EDIT http://vcdhelp.com/tmpgencedit.htm ) and yes you can also add other tracks to disc to fill it up .Keep the quality and doesn't take a long timeto do also very easy.
