    ok i'm reriping that same dvd..
    it's a Pal dvd...and i'm using dvd2svcd
    well i clicked on permanent subtitles...and chose english
    after i ripped the vob files..i played them and i don' see any subtitles..
    any reason y?

    the subtitles are in a separate stream, NOT part of the video itself, so playing the vobs directly won't show the subs..you need to encode it....then, the subs should be made part of the .mpg
