    Hiya , I want to transfer some old movies to dvd-r , Im not sure how though I know Ive been told its easy to transfer vhs to vcd but I dont know how to do both and I want to transfer VHS to DVD is there a guide on this board? I couldn't seem to find it , would be awsome if someone can point out a guide. Thanks!

    There are basically three steps involved:
    1. Capturing (from VHS to avi). You need some special HW to do this.
    2. Editing and converting from avi to mpeg.Fast PC recommended
    3. Authoring and burning. CD or DVD writer is essential.

    For all these steps How-Tos and guides are availble (left side)

    thanks the hardware is a TV tunner right? can you point out which page the convert vhs to avi is? thanks

    Why are these How-Tos titled:
    Capture
    Convert
    Author

    and so on ...?

    Are these captions so difficult to understand?`
    If someone tells me: look at How-To Convert, would I look somewhere else? IMHO, if I see something, which says 'How To: Convert' in friendly letters on it, I'd expect some advice 'How to Convert' inside.Or am I so wrong?
