slight flicker in movie why?

this is a DVD9
i used smart ripper and demuxed to an m2v file okay.(plus ac3 audio)
then rmpeg(which only goes to 99%) but still worked and made a smaller file.
used DVD Maestro to compile to proper audio sync and proper vob files. all was well untill i played it.
movie looks good(though not as good as original) and sound is synced, but there is a steady glitch like a flicker every 5 seconds or so. any ideas as to why? should i use a different prog to compile the m2v file or maybe switch to cce instead of rmpeg? Im at a loss and have gone through many tutorials and this one worked with my sony 500a (1.0f) so i used it. Maybe i need to change a setting in DVD Maestro.

Any help would be appreciated as I have gone through a lot of DVD blanks already

try to use different program to transcode like tmpgenc..
