  1. Hi!

I got DVD Studio Pro. And it installs also the mpeg2 encoder ...

I'm trying to reencode m2v-videos so that the will fit on a DVD-R.
I read that its possible to generate a pic with the movie size 720x567 (PAL), ... import it into Quicktime, ... open the M2v original and paste it into the Pic-File, so that Quicktime will export and reencode the movie file to m2v again.

But ... if I try to open a m2v file (no matter if the source is ripped by OSeX or its already reencoded by ffmpgX) Quicktime does not recognize the m2v-file in the open dialog ...... whats wrong??

What do I need so that Quicktime will read my m2v files????

    Thanx a lot for assistance!
    Markus

  2. You need to get the Apple MPEG-2 Decoder. $20 at the Apple Store.

Nope. It's an extra for Quicktime.

If you are just trying to use the files in DVDSP without reencoding, and you get the "bad file format" error, then you need to fix them with MoreMissingTools. In this case, you don't need to open them in Quicktime.
