  1. having come from making svcd rips to dvdr this past week, this dvdr stuff seems to be a giant hassle. Gone it seems are the easy days of just ripping, loading tmpgenc - do a vbr set on bitrates fitcd coughed up and then burn it.

anyhow, quick question, because none of the guides seem to cover this..

lets take an imaginary movie for an example...

    austin powers : goldmember.

the movie + audio is around 3.7 gb.

Now if this is all I want to burn, can i just smart rip it, then run it in ifoedit and do a "get vts vectors" and let it re-write the ifo file, then burn it with nero?

i backed up goldmember last week here's how i did it:
    1. ripped movie to harddrive with dvd decrypter (i selected to rip the movie files only- not the whole disc)
    2. opened up the movie vobs in ifoedit- stripped away the subtitles and the vobs were rewritten.( they will also be relabelled as the first vts track so the dvd player will play them.)
    3. then i made the newly written vob files region free and then i got the vts sectors for them.
    4. put the vobs in a file labelled VIDEO_TS and burnt to dvd-r with nero.
