  1. Hi all,

    I have encoded over 50 movies now in various formats, but this problem is new to me.

    I wanted to encode LotR-The Fellowship of the Ring SEE (PAL RC 2) to SVCD. The first disk had no problems at all, but during the encode of the secong disk CCE just stoped encoding. CCE dind't crash nor was my hdd full.

    I used SmartRipper->DVD2AVI->AviUtil->VFAPIConv->CCE.

    So my question is now, if anyone knows this problem and has a solution for it.

    Thanks in advance,
    Carnivora.

  2. I just completed a backup of my LOTR DVD (mine is region 1, NTSC) with DVD2SVCD and everything worked great. Give this software a try:

    Do a search for a member named "baker". He has a good visual guide

    i think Carnivora is referring to the extended version of LOTR, which is on 2 DVD discs because the total running time is 3.5 hrs....the original LOTR DVD was much, much simpler to rip/encode than the extended version...

    for some reason, the vobs from the first disc can NOT be linked to the vobs from the second disc, since the second half of the movie is always outta sync...so it had to be encoded separately...and even then, dvd2avi had sync problems (i tried 2 different versions, including the latest, stable version of dvd2avi)... i finally had to use flaskmpeg to frameserve into tmpgenc, skipping dvd2avi altogether for the 2nd DVD disc.

    I have had this happen before on a title (don't remember which) after 100 successes with CCE. I tried reripping, I tried 3 different computers with different OS, I tried DVD2SVCD, I tried manually frameserving with DVD2AVI and Avisynth, nothing worked! CCE kept stopping prematurely. I just shrugged my shoulders and moved on. Its never happened since.
