The situation is this;
When I transfer video from my dv camcorder (sony trv-320) via the 1394 connection I can't hear any audio when viewing the avi in Windows media player 8. I can use the ATI file viewer and it works fine.
This audio issue also seems to be causing problems with Tmpg, it refuses to load the avi. CCE will load and encode the file, but the resulting mpa file can't be played in wmp either.
Besweet can load and convert the mpa but the resulting wav file won't play in wmp.
If I mux the streams resulting from the cce encode and author using dvdit! the dvd is fine.
I've tried capturing with vegas video, premiere, and scenalyzer in DV-1 and -2, all with the same results. Audio is fine during capture but the resulting avi has no audio in wmp.
I downloaded the codec pack from microsoft and installed it, and installed the nemo codecs (a mistake I think), no go.
This is a problem that just cropped up recently - until now it was working fine. Transfer, double click, watch in wmp.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
