  1. Mine captures it as an AVI file, however, for some reason the file gets messed up when I exceed X no. of gigs....i think, around 4Gdunno exactly coz my pc freezes up Is there a work-around to this? Aside from stop-starting on commercials? (cuts up the .avi file) A pause-mode would be nice... [i]This would be a problem however for those shows with no commericals

Also, if I plan to burn it as a VCD file later on, what would be the "best" settings RGB24 or YUV? How about the screen size? Is there a standard or safe setting to follow?

    Thanks,

  2. You have a tri-boot system and you don't describe your capture card or software so it is difficult to give you an answer.

Win2000 or WinXP are good for many cards as they overcome the 4G limit using NT filesystem on disks.

Your card if based on bt8x8 chipset might benefit from drivers at btwincap.sourceforge.net
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

To get around the 4 GB limit, you have to use W2K/XP and NTFS file system. You may have problems ate 1 GB or 2 GB depending on if you use FAT16 or FAT32 and what operating system.

Power VCR will break the capture into 650 MB chunks. Most VCR style programs will let you choose a max GB limit and a max file size ( say 10 files of 1 GB each ). Try iuVCR , although it doesn't work for me, only 25 fps, but if you PAL your golden.
