ac3 woes

I recently got my hands on an extremly high quality dvd rip of blade 2 in divx format, the only problem is that i cant get any audio out of it. I'm pretty sure its ac3 based audio but i get perfect sound when i play dvd's...help needed...i tried installing nimo's codec pack, arrg garbage, i hate having icons down by my clock, and it broke plenty of other things that were perfect before. 1.4 ghz athlon, 640 megs of ram winxp...

I have been having very similiar problems...I just downloaded a divx version of From Hell and I can't get the audio to work either. I used Divx Player 2.0 Alpha I used GSPOT to test and see the type of Audio Codec, and it was ac3. Then I downloaded NIMO and installed the ac3 codec, but the sound still cannot be heard. I also had some compatibility issues with NIMO! When I installed all the basic options, I kept getting an explorer error when I went into folders. So I uninstalled and just installed the ac3 but I am still having no luck! Also, if I click on the file in the folder and I play it from the preview panel on the side in the folder, sound will play! Hopefully someone can help us out!!!

I have WinDVD but how do you play a divx file on WinDVD? I have WinDVD 2000 ver 2.6
