Is there a guide that details this? I want to keep the menus so it is a true 1:1 copy. I don't want to use DVDXCOPY to do it, I'd rather do it manually.
Thanks all.

Sounds very hard as the jump structure might be everywhere and you'd have to insert "Swap Disc" screens in between disc change jumps.

ok here is a very simple, clean and easy way to split a dvd9 into 2 dvd-r. This method i use for all my dvd9 needs.
I will keep this brief and assume you can check other guides that are post for pictures.
Programs used
DVD decryptor
IFOEdit
DVDPro Xp or what ever dvd player you use that allows you to load dvd's from a file or folder
Stomp RecordNowMAX 4.5
1 Rip your dvd9 with DVD Decrypter, you must be in file mode and you must highlight all the files on the dvd
2 Find which vob file holds the movie. for the most part its the largest series of vob's. You can check to see which vob's contain the movie with your dvd player and open that vob file in it.
3 Create 2 new folders one called disc1 the other disc2. inside each of these folders place a VIDEO_TS folder.
4 Use ifoedit, open the .ifo file that corresponds to the movie sequence. ie. VTS_ 01_0.IFO if the movie is contained in the VTS_01_1.VOB.....
5 Go into the vob extras section. then select split to 2 dvdr
6 Leave all the settings as the default, though you will need to change the oput source. click on the ... dotted box and browse to your disc1, VIDEO_TS folder, in the second oput box selected your disc2, VIDEO_TS folder.
7. Split the DVD, a window pops up with ifoedits split point which is usually where the dvd layer is. Sometimes you will need to adjust this point to allow you to fit any other menus or extras on the discs. click ok and let it split the movie.
8. next you will need to add any addition menus that are present on the disc. the menus are the VTS_01_0.vob or vts_02_0.vob the last zero signifies a menu section. for the dvd to work on a stand alone all the menus most be present in the VIDEO_TS folder. Also if there are any film studio logo vob or icons used that are within a vob those file must be present. I typically find the best splitting point so i can fit all the extras onto both discs.
9. Use Ifoedit once again open the VIDEO_TS.ifo and make region free, adjust the chapters to the correct number that you split the movie to in the VMG_PTT_SRPT , and get vts sectors. **note you might also have to make a disc region free by opening the corresponding VTS_01_1.vob to work as well. DONT FOR TO HAVE EACH STEP SAVED TO THE CORRECT FILE. Due this for both discs.
10. Burn each disc with stomp in data mode add the VIDEO_TS folder and burn away. stomp will not allow you to burn if you are missing any of the needed files or you F'ed up any step.
Once you get this down you can rip split and burn a dvd9 @ 2x in about 2 total hours without any quality loss and all the menus and extras

Dont forget to tip your waitress
Wetmonkey
**if anyone knows how to edit the VIDEO_TS to remove the need for the addition menus or vob files let me know -
also check out primedisc the have a double sided dvdr that works awesome, it can burn at 2x with the right firmware and get everything on one disc, fits nicely in a holder and ya wont loose one half of your flix, doom 9 site has some of these tutorials though some info is left out, check out www.cdrdvdrmedia.com if your in the US for cheap prices on discs
