  1. I seem to have hunted thru hundreds of messages, but seem to be the only person suffering Crashes while using this program.
It has only worked once and that was a test on a 25min documentary appox 0.7gb that I didnt actually want!!!
On every other occasion it has caused an invalid page fault in itself. stopping anywhere between 2% and 38%, creating a different m2v file size each time.
I have tried doing all the movie vobs, and just a single one with no luck.

My system is P3 600, 640mb, 40gb (39 free without the ripped movie) running 98se, I have no programs running in the background, and screensavers, power management, task schedlher..are all off.
(I know the machine is slow, but I am in the process of buying the components for an upgrade, so instead of waiting 12 hours to fail, it might take 2!!!)

I have delated the original program and downloaded another v1.5.2.

Do is matter where the ReMpeg.exe or the *.cffl files are stored? Do the need to be in the same directoy ie the c:/video_ts where the vobs are stored?

Any advice would be appreciated. Jim

  2. could it be that you are running 98se.

you need ntfs filing system to support files bigger than 4gb and 98se doesnt.
if you are going to do a lot of dvdr i suggest you change your operating system.

  3. Already thought of that one but as the biggest file produced so far before failure =1.7gigs I didnt think that was causing it.
And a reread of the instructions (just in case I read it wrong) now, states it will work with
    - Windows 9x/NT4/2000.

I ordered the new gear last night, and quess I will have to 'find' a copy of xp and do the lot all in one hit.

But would like to know if anyone is succesfully doing it with 98se
