Using menu in Nero

Hello
I am very new to this hobby but I cant find a solution to this one problem.

When I select "use menu" in Nero then make my VCDcopy, when I play it thats all I get is the menu. The VCD will not play nor will my DVD player let me choose anything else. (the menu looks real nice though)

I must be missing an important step here but just dont know what.

This may seem silly, but does the menu appear with just a numbered list of titles or a numbered list of thumbnails? If so, press the "1" key etc. to get the movie going. Nero defaults to an infinite loop on the menu screen and, as far as I can tell, the only way to get to the clips is with the number keys. Hope this helps.
