  1. Good evening all,

Could anyone please advice me how I can positively identify exactly what format a file is in !, or is there some software available which will do this !

After recently downloading a two part video I’m struggling to convert it for burning . The format appears to be some sort of .(uti).cam. which has me puzzled.

I’ve done a search on here and noted that uti maybe just a distributors name and nothing to do with the format but what about the cam part! I’ve also tried adding .bin to the end as suggested by a member in answer to a similar post but alas this did nothing.

Could someone please suggest a course of action or am I going in here over my head

My most sincere thanks in anticipation

  2. the .cam bit usually means it is a pirated version obtained by someone using a camcorder in a movie theatre.

Go to www.doom9.org and download Gspot. This will tell you what format the movie is in and what codecs are needed to play it.

    EDIT,

sorry not doom9 bute it can be found here:

  4. I think that I have a pretty good idea which file you have. I have the same problem with it, mpeg1 and it plays but it's weird. The only way I could even burn it was to load with Daemon tools and do a "disc to disc" copy......couldn't load the cue into anything I have
entirely TOO much time on my hands

  5. Thanks for taking the time to reply easydvd, to be honest after spending so much time attempting to resolve this problem I found it beneficial to scrap it and re-download the movie which I now have in both Mpeg and avi format.

If we are talking about the same movie HP2 and you still need it I'd be happy to forward the same via ASDL.

Once again thanks for the reponse
