Hi all, just tried to extract the audio from a DivX file, got a "cannot find DX50 codec" error but when I use Gspot it tells me the codec I need is installed on my system and the audio plays fine, any ideas why Virtual Dub can't find the codec?

I am newbie myself .. but I think i rember i had similar problem and it was because of ASPI drivers... Don't ask me what is that for ? no idea. But i remeber when i done what I was told to do - that is install aspi on my computer.. i had no problems whatsoever. I am using xp windows if you using the same.. may be it is your problem. Those 4 are aspi drivers:
WINNT\SYSTEM\WINASPI.DLL
WINNT\SYSTEM\WOWPOST.EXE
WINNT\SYSTEM32\WNASPI32.DLL
WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ASPI32.SYS
You can also use utility AspiTest (find under first topic ) on site http://www.macdisk.com/faqaspien.php3
It won't hurt you. Even if i am wrong.
