I am capturing home movies from my miniDV using Vegas Video and my firewire card.
When I convert the captured AVI to a MPEG2 and burn I loose the sound (not sure if I ever had it). The same thing happens when I try to convert AVI's from Kazaa and burn.
I know I am doing something wrong or missing a step.
Can someone help with some steps or where I may be loosing the audio?
Thanks in advance!

I am no expert, but why aren't you certain if your "ever had" your audio? I can play back my avi files and can hear whether there is audio or not.
