Is there a loss of quality if I use the SUPER-program to convert a MP4-file (853 kb) to an output mpeg-2-file (4,87 mb) or an output avi-file (2,68 mb)?

If you say so. But why are the output files bigger than the input file?

Because of higher bitrate. But it doesn't mean that that the quality will be any better or same but you if you use high enough bitrate you shouldn't notice any big difference. And what bitrate you should use depends on the codec like mpeg2 requires higher bitrate than for example mpeg4/divx/xvid.
And you can try mp4cam2avi and it will try remux a mp4 to an avi without any video conversion.
