A little quandry about a prob my mate is having with his DVD ROM drive (i'm sorry i know that this isn't quite the right forum but i wasn't sure which one!). He has the above dvd rom but seemingly having installed Easy CD Creator it has a serious problem reading CDs and DVDs (standard cannot read from the specified device msg) and the LED then flashes at regular intevals as if its trying to read the disc. We thought it was a problem with the drive but i just tested it on my PC and it appears to work fine on mine. Obviously a reformat should sort it but he doesn't really wanna do that, he upgraded the firmware and flashed the BIOS and neither of them seem to have made any difference.

I would REALLY REALLY appreciate some help as neither of us can work out what the hell is going on (and there is no UK LITE-ON support).
