I've tried using goldwave to sort out lipsynch and it seems brill. What I can't seem to do is work out the timings to adjust it. It takes so long to try it out and then you need to start all over again if it's not right and I don't seem to be very good at judging it. Is there anything that helps with this process...like Spock or someone?

Everytime i have done it, the audio has been slightly behind the video

its easy to do it in soundforge where you can have both the audio and video together on a time line showing frames -- soundforge opens mpeg1 and 2 files and any avi file and any stream'd files ...
you can even do the same thing in ACID or Vegas Video or Blade or really almost any video editing app ... -
Where can I get hold of soundforge? Is it prohibitively expensive?
(Thanks Johneboy I'm giving that a go)carpe diem maņana -
Thanks BJ_M for the soundforge tip. I've downloaded it. Could you give me some more info on how to do it? If one is numb as a piss stone and 10 is Marconi, I'm about a 4.

drag your clip into the time line and drag your audio into the time line and make them match ..
you have to have the sound forge main concept decoder installed i think
when you import a mpeg - it will tell you ..
avi files are no problem ..
