TMPGEnc Problem or SpruceUp problem

I've managed to author a few DVD's from SpruceUp. Now for some odd reason everytime I try to author, I get an error from SpruceUp that says Error reading video file. The MPEGs themselves play fine through a media player, and I can seem to find out why SpruceUp is giving this error. Anyone else have the same/similar problem?

I've run into a problem that sounds like yours a couple of times ... i believe my problem was bad .avi's to start with ...
(my problems were all with downloaded avi's that i encoded to mpeg2)
Spruce up had problems with 1 out of 5 of them ... so now i just don't bother and i stick with DivX's instead.

In an unrelated issue (I have a problem with mpeg2's that i've already authored) and watched on my standalone , when i want to copy them again with Nero or Instant CD/DVD I just can't figure it out.
Is there a guide out there for copying authored stuff with Nero or something else ?
