    hello-

i have recently learned (from this site) how to make VCDs, and have encountered only one problem. here it is:

i have 2 DVD players. one is a Mintek 1600, and the other is an AIWA XD-DV370U.

i used TMPGEnc to create an MPEG file from an .ASF/MPG stream i downloaded, then used VCDeasy to burn a single-track VCD with no menus or chapters from just that one file. (all based on the guides at vcdhelp.com)

in the AIWA player, it plays perfectly.
in the Mintek, the picture is very choppy, but the sound is fine.

    is this common?
does it have something to do with the TMPGEnc conversion i did?
    what can be done?

    ---------
also, if the AIWA player i have hasn't been listed, it plays VCDs but not SVCDs. I haven't checked it with anything else.

  2. (1) Are you sure that you used the VCD template with TMPGEnc?

If so, then the most likely problem is a media compatibility issue with one of the players.

    Regards.

It depends on which version of the mintek 1600 you have. One can play vcds find (the one I have) and the other may have trouble. It can also be what vitualis said too. Try going to http://www.nerd-out.com since they discuss that player in detail
