How works DVD Video-Game

Hi,

First time I post here... and my english is not very good

So, I have a question regard to the new style of DVD. It's not a DVD-Rom, it's a real DVD that I can play in my home player DVD.

I've found this kind of DVD in a FutureShop. I've buy "Space Ace" and "Dragon's lair 2:Time Warp"

How this kind of DVD work? Like the arcade game, or Pc game, you must push at the right time the direction/action button to move.

But in a home DVDPlayer (i have the Hitachi DV-415P) how the DVD, when you push the direction button on the remote, or Enter in the remote, the DVD know what append?

Can someone explain this to me???

i think i have an understanding of how these work..
I belive they're somewhat similer to how the menu works in your dvds, think of the dvd player as a computer, and your remotes the keyboard, .. when you start a normal dvd, the menu comes up and you scroll and select your options, in most cases its just audio options and playback control, ive played games included on movies though.
i think that these games are programed much in the same fasion, at the right time, it sits and waits for you to press the button, then it plays another clip, after the clip ends, i waits for you to instruct it..
Id like a black jack game for dvd.. any thoughts?

I have the dragon's lair, and space ace games for my PC, and each action triggers the player to grab a different .AVI file. The DVD versions likely just have them strung together as a VOB and the video, on a timer or something, plays a certain "chapter" when buttons are pushed. (I'd actually be interested to see how the frames are split up in Smartripper)

A DVD player doesn't have any general programmable features like a PC. I would challenge that a truly random deck black jack game on a DVD would be impossible.
