  1. I want a DVD recorder but have limited free space. How much room do I need to rip a DVD movie? I have about 8 gig free.

  2. A normal DVD has a max capacity of 4.8 Gb... so i think ur 8GB's will be enuf

    Actually a single sided commercial DVD can be upto 9 Gb in size.

    some random guy. Waht is your target for the ripped DVD's. Are you going to make Divx's VCD's SVCD's or DVD-r. I suggest you take a look at the ripping guides listed on the left of this page. 8 Gb is just enough for some ripping methods, but for DVD to DVD-r you could do with much more, 12 - 15 is reccomended. HD's are cheap at the moment tho so that should help.
