  1. Hi folks,

I've pretty much mastered ripping my own dvd's for all intents and purposes but I've ran into something that I just can't get around and I hope someone out there knows this. Ok, here goes. I've got this dvd that I want to keep everything on, the menu, extras, etc., so I need to spilt it to 2 dvd's which normally is a piece of cake. But on this particulr dvd, the main movie is in VTS_02_xx, not VTS_01_xx like most dvd's. Since I follow Doom's guide for spilting the dvd, it states that all dvd's must have a titleset VTS_01_0.VOB, VTS_01_0.IFO & VTS_01_0.BUP, along with the other files like VIDEO_TS, etc. Normally this is not a problem because the main movie is usually in the first titleset. My problem is that this particular dvd does not contain the VTS_01_0.VOB menu. I only have a VTS_02_0.VOB menu. So after I spilt my dvd, the corresponding disk 1 and disk 2, don't play right because of this missing menu. So who knows how to fix this? Should I go in and rename titleset 2 and make it titleset 1 and vise versa? I admit I'm really stumped. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks.

This is probably a stupid suggestion, but hey -- why not? I've got nothing to lose but my paltry handful of IQ points...
Have you considered creating a "phoney" menu consisting of ntohing but (say) 30 or 120 frames of digital black and naming it VTS_01_0.VOB and
sticking it at the very start of the DVD?

  3. I've tried something like that, what I did was took my VTS_02_0.VOB and ran it through IFOEDIT and just stipped out all the vob's except for one like a fbi warning, parental screen, or just black, and then renamed it VTS_01_0.VOB but no luck.

  4. i would suggest to rename the titleset to vts_01.xx etc and use ifo update to change all the information - use ifoupdate not ifoedit.

i dont know if this will work but give it a go -- use a dvdrw to burn it.

  5. just put the VTS1 titleset in both discs? and put also all the menu files in both discs... read that Doom9's guide carefully...
