DVD Decryptor v 3.1.3.0 - error!??!!!

I am trying use The Cretins' Guide to DVD Ripping and Copying in 40 comparatively easy steps (listed in vcdhelp.com).

My problem is when I start the program, I get this error.

i/o error!

I have absolutely no idea what that means. Can someone help me?

I am using a hp dvd 200i (dvd+r) and using chasing amy dvd

if the region code if diferent U will get this error so if U put a region 1 disk in it will not allow U to read it to an image same goes for a region 2. If U have a region free dvdrom on the otherhand U can make the image. The other solution is get an older copy of dvddecryptor i.e. 2.4 it will take the vobset to the drive & U can use vob or nero to copy it.

I get the same error message at times. I remove any dvd disk and reboot. Seems to fix the problem for me.
