  1. I finally figured out how to get my audio/video in sync when I convert my real media files to avi's! I was so happy, but I didn't get to enjoy my happiness long because I went to convert the avi to an mpeg w/ tmpgenc but something is wrong because there is nothing but a black screen there! And the finished mpeg is nothing but a black screen and great sound. This can't be! I don't know why it's like this because there is no error messages. I am following the instructions to the letter in the guides but the same thing keeps happening. Weird part is the avi is perfect! Plays video and audio, so I don't know what to do. Can someone help me please!

  3. Yes whatever information you need I will try to supply it! I have been able to convert avi files successfully before that I downloaded. I wanted to put them on vcd to watch in my dvd player and tmpgenc did a great job. This file I made. It was a real media file I downloaded then I used EOVideo to make it an avi so I could convert the avi to an mpeg w/ tmpgenc. Maybe these stats will help you figure out what my problem is.

    Size - 85.8MB
    Length - 19min 11.435sec
Audio Format - Windows Media Audio V2, 64 kbps, 44 kHz, stereo (for audio/video)
    Video Format - 320 x 240, 34542 Frames, 30.000 Frames/Sec, 76 KB/Sec, Unknown Format
    Video Decompressor - DivX5.0.2 Codec
    Audio Sampling rate - 44100Hz
Audio Compression - DivX ;-] Audio Compressor

did you change the width to 352 in tmpgenc

My player would shift the video or not even display it at 320
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

How do I change the width to 352? EOVide doesn't have a setting for 352? Can I change it in tmpgenc or w/ something else?

  6. Nevermind, it's not the width because I figured out how to fix that and it's still just a black box no video. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

If you get an error message when opening the video or audio like file unsupported or you get an empty(black) video preview window
or the video look wierd in the video preview window like green or purple or pink. Be sure that you have installed the DivX Codecs (both DivX 3.11, 4 and 5) and also try with the Nimo Codec Pack. If that does not work try to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.

I found it in the Newbie section under TMPGEnc Problems. If you click on the brown text in my previous post, it will take you right there. Thanks for "heavenly" compliment.
