  1. Hi everyone, I'm trying to convert a DivX movie in ac3 format to an mpeg file in Tmpeg encoder. To do this I first rip the sound to an wav file in AudioDub then use different sources in Tmpeg, one for movie and one for sound. But the result is very poor when it comes to the sound, it's like it has hickups. I tried to play the audio file by it self and heard that the problem was in it and not in the way Tmpeg had encoded it. So can anyone please tell me if there is another way to rip the sound in a good way besides AudioDub? It's supposed to be simple, open the movie in Virtualdub, select "Save WAV" under "File" and you're ready to go, or am I doing anything wrong here? Why has the sound hickups?

By the way, I have tried the tooLAME with Tmpeg aswell...same result

  2. heh, finally i have some answers! youre on the right track, just missing one crucial step... if u use the ac3 clip u get the hiccups, or pops in the audio.. what i figgered out was this: after you save the ac3 file with vdub, use ac3dec to turn it into a wav file. no more pops or hiccups. use this as your audio source, the original movie as your video source and u get a great sounding final product. unless my ears are playing with me, i think the sound this way is better than when i dont have the hassle. maybe the ac3 sound is saving some of the surround? i dunno.. it works, and thats good enough for me!

  3. Thanxx Mack!! I tried it and you were right, it worked Only one small problem though, I downloaded ac3 decoder as a shareware version (couldn't find anything else), so the decoding stops when it has reached half way Maybe you can tell me where to download the complete version, or send it to me? Feel free to contact me by mail:
