I have had very few problems ever with virtualdub. This morning, however, when wanting to open a video file to extract the mp3 sound and save as a wav, I got the following message: could not locate dx50 format filter (or something close to that). I thought that I had the latest codecs, maybe not. Can anyone give any suggestions? Thanks again, as always.

I found the answer. I thought I had the latest codecs but did not. Got divx 5.0.2 and that solved it.

Does the DivX 5 codec cause a problem with 3.11, 4.02.1, etc?
This is what AVIdiag [ build Sep 26 2001 ] shows on my computer:
DivX.dll = DivX 4.02
DivXc32.dll = DivXMPEG-4 Video Codec (Low-Motion)
DivXc32f.dll = DivXMPEG-4 Video Codec (Fast-Motion)
DivXa32.acm = DivXAudio Codec
Thank You & Have a great Day! :)
