BlazeFox- Waiting on Hacks for my AD-1100W APEX dvd player.

I saw links for 2 new hacks.. I clicked them but they were both dead.

I have an APEX AD-1100W with a serial number sticker that reads:

A110001121250898YEC4

It does not say "TV TYPE" in the GENERAL SETUP area. Rather it says

The "PREFERENCES" tab with the Suitcase icon is unavailable and its letters are greyed out. Much like an unavailable button in Windows.

What I want is a hack that I can burn to a CD (that won't take too long to download as I am on a 56k) that will allow me to change the background screen, Defeat the "Macrovision" that keeps me from recording a decent VHS copy of a DVD. And open up regions.

I can record VCD's just fine. I made two VHS tapes of NIN and Marylin Manson videos I burned to VCD. But when I try to input the DVD video feed into another machine such as a VCR or my small TV/VCR combo the screen flutters and the brightness fluctuates.

I want to make a VHS backup of "Not Another Teen Movie" mainly because of the uncut version of the "Tainted Love" video in the Special Features.. and in the uncut "The Making Of The Video" Manson is goofing off and humping the stuffed animals and smacking the rears of the furrsuiting bunny girls.. *murrrrrrr...* bunny girls..

I got a big kick out of that, me being a furre and all.

I'll be attending ConiFur in Seattle on October 2nd thru 8th. Or however long it last. Look for someone in an airbrushed Tails the Fox shirt with a large []\[] [] []/[] logo on the back.

Mine does not have TV TYPE in the GENERAL SETUP area.. *sighs*

So this means that I have the 512 K version of the AD-1100W player.
And there currently is no consistent hack made for my model.
Probably because the files used in the hack process excede the 512 K firmware capacity. -.-

If I do this I wanna make sure I do it right and that it works.
I want to get a reliable hack that is made specifically for my model.

Hi there! I have an Apex 1100W, and I had a really hard time finding a hack until I went to nerd-out.com and found out about this other site. Go to http://www.apexmodchip.com and for ten bucks you can buy a dvd that you can put into your Apex and as easy as 1..2..3.. you're region free!!!! Honestly, you can even pick a screen saver for your Apex....it's worth every penny! Good Luck. Phibbs
