I've just returned to the US from 10 years in Europe. My sons have a lot of region 2 DVDs (100+) that don't work in our Dodge Video Entertainment System as it's coded for region 1. I could copy them without region coding of course, but it's 100 discs and kids being kids they will want the ones I haven't done yet...

So has anyone had any luck hacking these systems to be region free? Is there any method for finding the codes? I'm quite handy with a computer and willing to pull the thing apart to plug it into my laptop etc etc.

    thanks

Besides the RPC code, there's the PAL/NTSC issue to deal with. AFAIK, no hack will make a NTSC only player into a NTSC+PAL player.

This issue has come up a few times that last month or so. One of the Ops contacted the manufacturer (Dodge in your case) and they flashed the firmware of the player.
