I've put up a web page with pics of the main circuit board from my Toshiba SD3109 at http://home.swbell.net/barrettn/sd3109.htm. From what I've gathered on some now non-existant pages where they sold region code and macrovision hacks, the firmware lives in one of the chips on that board, but apparently not the ones they refer to, from what I can tell. Anyone care to have a look at the pics and see if they can ID the right chip? I want to get the spare from Toshiba so I have newer (3.0) firmware - I'm hoping this will fix some of the freezes I see with regular DVD disks, and might make some VCDs work. Right now I have FW version 1.8 and no VCD that I've tried has ever worked.
