  1. I'm asking this for a friend, since he's not sure what the problem is.

He bought a Sansui DVD player when he was in China (I forget the exact model) and it worked fine when he was living in Japan. However, now he's back in the US and he can't seem to get any of his dvds to work anymore. The player did say it was compatible with 50 or 60 Volts I believe, but it's not working at all.

Think all he needs is a power supply converter?

Thanks for any help in advance! Sorry if I'm a bit unclear to his situation.

  2. 50/60 refers to the Hertz of the electricity, Not the Voltage.

So it could be it can only run on 220v (at 50-60 Hertz)

    Radio Shack have Step-up transformers.

If you are handy with Electronics, the built in transformer
inside the DVD player can be modified to take 110v

P.S it could also be that the DVD player broke during
    all this traveling. (transporting damage)
