  1. I need to re-encode a divx 3.11 divx avi to a divx 5.02 avi...I tried using Virtual Dub using the divx 5.02 two pass mode but everytime it gets to the second pass it gives me some error and virtual dub closes...Is there anything I can do? Or is there another program I could use for this kind of conversion? Thanks.

    why do you want to?

if you want better quality, it won't work.
first decompress to an uncompressed avi(lot of space required), then reencode to divx 5.02.
