I have many downloaded video and movie files that were compressed either with Divx or Xvid.
Is there a way to "upconvert" these files back to their original source size ? Curious to know
what they looked like before compression.....

You can change the frame size by re-encoding, but you will lose more quality and they will look worse.
You can't get back what you don't have.

You could do a very slow and laborious expansion using something like AVS Spline64Resize, then run a smoothing/warpsharp filter, which would let you fill the screen without it being too obviously pixelly. But you'd still be missing all the fine details, and it'd be a long time processing. Not worth it.

Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more!
