    I'm confused.
I was a registered owner of DivX 6 Pro since late 2008 . I tried to convert an mp4 file (AVC1) and got and error message saying:

    Divx Pro
To convert H.264 files, upgrade to Divx Pro and get the full version of Divx Converter with support for cinematic-quality H.264 video, AAC audio and more.

So I paid the $10 to upgrade. I got an order confirmation but no new serial number. Nothing. Checked my registration and it confirmed I was only registered to "v.6". I've written their (absolutely brutal) support site and have yet to hear anything. My converter just says "Divx 7", with no "Pro".
I'm about to flush their software down the drain, except my DVD player only supports DivX or DVD (it's an LG LDA-530). What am I missing here? Do they owe me a new serial?
    Thanks.

  2. As I understand Divx7 is a basically H264 video in a *.divx file container (as opposed to *.mp4, *.avi). Usually mp4's are h264 video with aac audio. H264 isn't supported on most dvd players yet. If your DVD player supports DIVX, most of them only support Divx 6 and below, without H264 support.

I would find out if your specific DVD player supports h264 and divx7, before you concern yourself with converting your files to divx7.
