    Hi,

I was wondering what would give you the best quality in video.
Would copying a DVD-5 to a 4.7 gb DVD+r , -R - or would it be better to download DivX movies and convert them into mpeg2 format using Tmpgenc and burning them to a DVD +R or -R using a higher bitrate say 4500 - 6000.

Is there a winner with these 2 methods? Would it be the same Quality or even better quality than dvd copying if you do the Divx conversion on DVD?

    Thanks
    Haylen

  2. Hi

DVD movie to DVD-R is always going to be better if done correctly, with a decent encoder such as CCE

divx still loses quite a bit of quality even though it does a great job, tmpgenc isnt the best option for going to divx->mpeg2 either, its slow, cce is faster and uses passes much more effectively

Theres no point having a large bitrate mpeg2 from divx if quality has already been lost in the divx encode
