  1. I capture with an ATI AIW 7500 in the DVD preset, which provides compliant video and audio. In order to shrink it down to a smaller size to fit more stuff on discs, I re-encode with TMPGenc and either tooLame or SSRC for audio. I then import into DVD Movie Factory for authoring and burning. Somewhere along the line my audio has ended up as mpeg audio and I can't hear any sound on my DVD player (even with messing with all the settings on the player, or just plain running it to the TV through RCA cables). What do I need to do to fix?

  2. When you re-encode with tmpgenc, it converts the audio to mpeg as part of the dvd template. Next time demux the audio from the original file and then re-encode only the video in tmpgenc. Then just remux the new, smaller video with the original audio.

    Voila.... compliant mpeg!!
RealaT Bytes, but that's what life is.
