i have avi that were made on pc or cam from a pc but it does not work in quicktime or windows media player. it seems like a program or a codec is missing. What should I do?

It's probably a divx encoded. If so, you need to goto divx.com and download the divx stuff for Mac. It comes with a app called Divx Validator that will make the file playable with Quicktime.

I got the vcd's to work on quicktime by using a codec the only porblem is that the sound is studering or at some cases not working at all. When I noticed that i used DivX Doctor II to try to fix them the sound worked fine but now the problem is that after a couple of miutes playing the sound stuterd like befor I used DivX Doctor II and the computer freezes. What should I do?
