    I ran my Norton virus scan last night for all my files and after 1-2% it had taken about 30 min+ just for that, and I noticed that the number of files it was scanning was moving kinda of slow, anyone know what would be causing the slow process all of sudden?

    It's never done it before, I mean 30min for only 1-2% is to much...any suggestions?

    What would the drivers have anything to do with it, if my virus scan was performing smoothly before?

    whens the last time you defraged?
    is it just the virus scan or are there other programs that are slow also?
    i'm very rusty on 98 but how high is your resouces.
    if there is a conflict with hardware it can suck the resouces and something like a virus scan will be very slow.
