  1. i verify the codecs that i have on my computer (control panel\sounds and multimedia\hardware..etc.)

now i am looking to capture video from vhs with vdub. when i look at video\compression, not all the codecs that i have are listed (especially the one i would like to use)

    1. how do i get vdub to use those codecs?
    2. how do i get cce to use those codecs for encoding to mpv?

    thanks for the help

Most of those codec are probably DirectShow based. Neither Vdub or CCE recognize DirectShow codec's.

    Sorry

Try grabbing the codecs from the tools section, and reinstall them. They might need a separate install, and Vdub might not recognize the ones bundled with your currrent capture/video card. Most people agree that capturing with Huffy or PicVideo is the best solution for size and quality issues. I'm personally trying with uncompressed today, to see if there's a difference between uncompressed and Huffy.

    Good luck!!!!!!!

    Oh...

For capturing VDub will only show those codes that are compatible with the capture format that you have chosen.
