  1. Hi, I don't think that I know what I'm doing here. But first I would like to know if there is a way to fit a 7GB video on a 700mb cdr?

  2. The short answer would be no (most of the time). The size of a DVD in GB is not always directly proportional to the length of the movie, which is the limiting factor along with the aspect ratio of the movie.
I personally have just being able to put almost 60 minutes in a SVCD disc, and that was in 16:9 aspect ratio, as for VCD the most I have done is 90 minutes. Of course your mileage may vary according to each project and how picky your DVD player is.

  3. I am a newbie at this (so take anything I say with a block of salt) but I don't think you could compress 7gb down to 700mb without serious cropping and cutting the bit rate way down...

I will be curious to see what others say.

  4. No,no you can't chop it down from 7GB into 700mb. I was thinking about spliting it into two cdrs, how should i do that? And what would be the best format that i could use?

  5. shouldn't go by the filesize of the DVD..

    go by the movie length.....

usually, it's 2+ hours on 3 discs (crappy quality if u try to fit on 2 and "looks fine to me on TV" doesn't count)
