I have just created a VCD (2 discs) of Spiderman. I used Virtual Dub, TMPEGenc, M2-EDIT and VCDEASY however I have problems with the quality. The audio is slightly out of sync with the video, the picture is blurry when moving fairly fast but the main problem is that the picture is very blocky especially in dark areas. Can anybody help me? I have been told about XVCDs but I am not sure about how to create these.

you can read about xvcd's here.
its taking your standard vcd settings and changning them w/ tmpgenc to get better quality. some suggestions to make your movie better.
change motion precision to high quality - make your bitrate higher. you will have to check your dvd players compatability to see how high you can set it. but even putting it up to 1400 or so would improve your video. of course the higher you put your bitrate the less minutes fit on a cd.
read a lot that should help -
A xvcd is where you up your bitrate. To unlock the screen to do this go to the load like you are selecting a template. Look for a folder named extra and open it. From there you should seen an unlock template. Select unlock. Go back to settings and you will then be able to increase your bitrate. Use the bitrate calc. to see how much bitrate you can use for your two cd movie.
