  1. A friend of mine wants to transfer some old VHS tape to VCD, but hows it done ? He needs a new graphic card, and doesn't mind getting one with VIVO, but what then ?

I've always converted DivX or DVD to SVCD, so I ain't got a clue on this, any help appreciated.

You should try to read up on capturing at left. Once you capture, go to converting, then, of course authoring.

  4. I already converted one of my VHS tape to VCD and were able to play it on my PC!!! But the problem is I cannot play it on my PIONEER VCD mini-compo. Somebody help me what should I do so that I can also play some of my converted files to my VCD player.

  5. Might be that your player does not handle CDRs well (some are known for that). Try burning to CDRWs instead and see whether your player can read it.

Since you haven't told us exactly what your player does when you try to play the disc, then it's difficult to troubleshoot. You also haven't told us how you converted this VHS tape to VCD. What software did you use? What bitrate is the video? What bitrate is the audio? What resolution is the MPEG?
