  1. I have found a DVD writer that burns both formats (+/-).
A very well known retailer in Norway is quoting this:

    NEC DVD writer ND-1100 DVD+R/+RW and DVD-R/-RW
    NOK 2,400.00
    This is arround $325

Has anyone heard about this burner. It's cheaper than pioneer A04 and HP 2000i.

Here is the link to NEC's swedish site http://www.nec.se/templates/NEC_ProductCategory.asp?id=2878&item=4257

    Sorry, but it's in swedish.

Ok here is a translation, sorry about my english

"ND-1100, a brand new DVD writer with support for both DVD formats.

No more confusion on which format is best or supported by most players.
ND-1100 supports both DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW. Both formats offers a number of advantages.

ND-1100 also incorporate NEC's own technic AOPC, Active Optimum Power Control.
Under the whole burning process the laser quality on the media
is controlled and the laser power adjusted if necessary to secure optimal
reading. ND-1100 is of course backwards compatible and can write to
    CD-RW media..."

    The specifications:

    Speed
    Read:
    40x max CD-ROM
    12x max DVD-ROM

    Write:
    16x max CD-R
    10x max CD-RW
    4x max DVD+R
    2.4x max DVD+RW
    2x max DVD-R
    1x max DVD-RW

Great post. However, we can get Pioneer's A04 for $250.00. Like the options on your drive, though.
    Hello.

  5. Well here is the link to the web shop Komplett Data.
They don't have the player yet, but are receiving orders.
I don't know if they accept orders from abroad.
