  1. Any recommendations for progressive scan DVD players with
    a hack available for disabling macrovision ?
    couldn't find any in the hack list.

  2. How are you going to record Progressive Video from DVD ?
    The 480P output is only available in component Video ( 3 RCA connector ).

    Do DVD recorder like panasonic takes progressive video ?

  3. At this point, I wasn't planning to record in progressive scan..
    I want to be able to record occasionally in VHS format..
    but view DVDs that I rent in progressive scan on my Samsung 42" progressive scan TV (HD capable monitor).

    But later, yes.. if progressive scan recording becomes cheaper.. I presume I can do it in a D-VHS recorder today as it can record HDTV.. I will want to use that option - after a year hopefully.. when D-VHS recorders drop below $400!

    The lists are ALL WRONG! I checked me Pioneer out.It says no hacks,and priced at $80? You click on the more info,and lowest price is about $300.It should be about $250.Also I know there were hacks posted a couple of months ago.
