A band of distortion on screen

I successfully burned an svcd to cd and it plays fine on TV with my DVD player. However, playing the same thing on the computer with PowerDVD, I get a band of distortion - horizontal lines - on the right side of the screen. Any advice is appreciated.

Are you ouputting this display to a TV or a monitor? I have seen this happen on a TV alot, but rarely through a VGA output. If it is indeed through a monitor (most likely I guess) then I would try updating your PowerDVD version, try a different player, and most importantly see if it does the same thing with a different SVCD.
