  2. Hmm? First do you have the Matrix DVD? If so there is no need to make a DivX of it. DivX is MPEG4, VCD is MPEG1, SVCD is MPEG2, and DVD is MPEG2. Going from DVD -> DivX -> S/VCD will only hurt the quaility of your final S/VCD.

    Ok, first read the 'DVD Rip' guide/s to the left. Also good guides are at http://www.doom9.org and http://www.flexion.org/vcd

    At the flexion.org site look under 'DVD Conversion' and there are excellent guides with lots of screen shots to make DivX files (guide v1.21) or VCD (guide v1.3)

    At the doom9.org site I would look under 'the guides' and try DVD2SVCD. This is a frontend program that will run:
    vStrip -> DVD2AVI -> azith -> tooLame -> CCE -> bbMPEG -> VCDimager
    You'll need to d/load the DVD2SVCD software bundle and CCE 2.5sp (there's a link for it below the DVD2SVCD bundle). This is a CCE demo, so there's a watermark/logo in the bottom right of your encoded MPEG2 file. I've heard there's a crack to remove it Anyway, DVD2SVCD will do everything for you, and is a really really nice program.
